With an elevation of 1120 meters, Qixing Mountain is magnificent. Visitors can make a 15km round-trip experience of the beauty of Yangmingshan National Park via the Yangjin Highway, Zhonghu military reserved route, Jingshan Road and Xinyuan Street. Transportation is convenient, and there are many parking spaces. On sunny days, many people come to enjoy the highest point in Taipei City. There are various hiking trails in this area, which, despite the height, are not especially challenging. From the Xiaoguanying Stop on Yangjian Highway, it is a 20-minute hike to the Xiaoyoukeng entrance (#27) where the famous sulfur geysers and hot springs can be found. This was once a center of sulfur production. The peak is about another 40 to 60 minutes from this spot. Going down the mountain from here, visitors pass Menghuan Lake; continuing on brings them to the parking area at the Zhonghu military reserved route (#29). The path on Shamao Mountain rises steadily from the mountain park entrance (#19) to the peak and extends along the steep slope to the Dapu entrance (#18) on Yangtou Highway. The whole trip takes about 2 hours.
