As part of “2012 Taipei Children’s Month” activities launched by Department of Education, the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) announced that Maokong Gondola is offering free ride for elementary school students nationwide.
For kids across the country, they will be able to receive a multiple day pass valid throughout Children’s Day on April 4 when producing their ID documents, such as Student ID Card or National Health Insurance Card.
Taipei elementary school students, on the other hand, will only need to pass their Digital Student ID Card over the sensor area of the gates before boarding on April 4. As a bonus, they are also eligible for a multiple day pass granting unlimited rides on any selected date between April 1 and 29 when presenting their “2012 Taipei Children’s Month” pamphlet to the gondola staff.
To avoid an expected influx of visitors, TRTC suggested that the city’s children enjoy their free gondola ride on any day during the activity period except April 4.
According to TRTC, number slips will be distributed to visitors if there are too many waiting in lines. Visitors can choose from ordinary or crystal cars and take the ride at the designated time specified on the number slip.
